“The Phil” is the premier, signature house tune package.
Because they tune their equipment utilizing a state-of-the-art Montana Saphir B fully automated robotic machine, choosing "The Phil" means your skis are getting a high-precision, robotically-executed overhaul.
The exact components that go into their comprehensive bench services include:
- Automated Base Grinds: The Montana Saphir robot grinds the ski bases perfectly flat and adds a professional linear structure pattern to optimize water dispersion and glide.
- Precision Edge Sharpening: Side and base edges are mechanically sharpened and set to precise bevel degrees for maximum grip on icy slopes.
- Base Repair: Deep gouges, scratches, and core shots are filled (typically using P-Tex) and flattened back down to true.
- Hot Wax Application: A professional hot wax layer is applied, scraped, and brushed out for maximum speed and base protection.
Note: Because specific adjustments (like structure depth or wax temperature parameters) change based on current winter weather conditions, ask at the counter what exact specs go into it this season when you drop your gear off.
